About the author: Sam Mahaffie has worked with boys for over 25 years as a basketball coach, youth pastor, and mentor. He founded Saving Our Boys, a ministry that challenges and teaches men to be mentors to our boys, especially boys without fathers. He also helps churches to set up mentoring programs. He and his wife, Darlene, have two children, five grandchildren, four foster sons, and a late-in-life addition, David.
